DonorsChoose.org and the Infosys Foundation USA have partnered make it possible for teachers to attend professional development (PD) in order to teach middle or high school computer science. Teachers can now list “scholarships” to attend PD as projects on Donors Choose. Currently available PD includes The Beauty and Joy of Computing, Mobile CSP, Thriving in our Digital World: AP, and Bootstrap. In most cases, the scholarship includes teacher stipends.
This Donor’s Choose option allows school communities to raise local funding to prepare their teachers to teach high school CS. It also allows school communities to tap into nonlocal donors: the Infosys Foundation USA is currently matching donations!
